This lil’ bastardized Shakespeare ditty is the essence of what it means to brand a small business. The word brand always used to make me think of the logo (visual brand). As I began specializing in brand development, I realized that it’s a simple understanding of oneself and one’s business so that you can show up in the world with self-awareness and consistency and it covers a frickin’ lot of ground: logo, color, font … yes, but also it includes your deep understanding of why you do what you do. It grounds you in the essence of YOU-ness, which ends up making your business life EASIER!
If you’re a creative like me, running your own business, you may feel keenly how the business crosses the boundaries into your personal life. Pause and breathe and feel your business heartbeat. Take some time with that.
