Katia was a multi-passionate creative who had a real talent with writing and storytelling. She had gone through some life-changing personal events and was ready to focus her life through a business, art, writing, or music. She wasn’t sure.
What we realized …
We sat down and talked about how to approach art, her story growing up in Lebanon, and finally, about publishing. She loved the idea of building a small press and took off to learn what would be involved in operating it. In the course of our conversations, we talked about the need for cohesive design, palette, and website and began the journey to the current business by building a small site and stating her intention. That was in 2018.
In 2019, she began forming the administrative team and opened her business for writer contributions. We integrated WooCommerce and began the process of systemizing the creation of the book products. Each following year, she added new books, refined her publication process, and attracted an amazing editorial and marketing team.
And now, the WOW…
In the years since she first began, with the help of a fully operating, growing, thriving website and her own marketing efforts, Katia and her core staff have built a beautiful and thriving publishing business that focuses on the stories and lived experiences of people from all over the world.
I reached out to Wendy at Plum Nelly Creative to set up a website for my new publishing company, Elyssar Press, in 2018. I enjoy working with Wendy because she is professional, timely, and always has a trick or two up her sleeve. With her extensive background, she gives feedback and encouragement on our projects and new endeavors. She has brilliant ideas from her years of experience and her work with creative customers. She is easy to talk to, very creative, and we trust her to be there, be a thought-partner, and to support us. • Since we began working together, Wendy developed our brand and website, complete with a logo, photography direction, and a beautiful design with easy-to-access information. She integrated WooCommerce for us for ecommerce. She maintains it and receives inquiries. We continue to have insightful conversations about how to make the business prosper, and she introduces new concepts and ideas to me every time. She is wonderfully collaborative and worked with the marketing department to provide the brand and design elements to assist in creating ad campaigns.
Wendy Hunt is an artist, illustrator, free-range thinker, musician, and writer living in the Mojave Desert. She loves the playful element of designing and developing brands, websites, and marketing goodies. Wendy has always loved maps and speculates that we can visually map our interior landscape the same way we map our physical world.
